I have some reservations (although I still fundamentally agree) with the identification of the problem of the Alpha Male Syndrome. I don't think there can be much disagreement with what you say - you just have to look at our Government at the moment. My concern would be that even if this is the case we women must also share some responsibility for the imbalance of power in our society and challenge injustice. I think that Alpha Males do have and survive with the support of many women, those who vote for, admire and encourage them or who do not challenge them. The danger for some educated women is to identify all men with the 'Alpha Male', blame all men for inequalities and perceive themseves as victims rather than as colluders or privileged.

The other thing I wonder about is whether there will always be Alpha Males and whether their power of the Alpha Male is necessarily bad? I suppose I need to be sure of the definition of "Alpha Male', and I'm not sure if this is ridiculous, but can the power of the Alpha Male be directed to Good and mitigated by the rest of us? There will always be people who are naturally v ambitions and driven and comfortable with Power and leadership - I'd just like them to have moral consciences and humility. Is that naive?Anne Boothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17160915179685300264noreply@blogger.com
